Badugi is great fun

I played a badugi tournament yesterday on Poker Stars for the first time in my life. I won it :D Ok, there were only 8 players in the tournament, but still :))) I won $40 LOL. It was a $11 buy-in tournament :)

Actually, badugi is great fun. It is a 4-card game. You need to have cards of all 4 suits, that is called a badugi. You can draw 3 times. Actually, it has some similarities with 2-7 triple draw, a game that I just started to play recently and I love it. I have been winning at the $5/$10 tables, so I tried $10/$20 for the first time today and got burnt.

I think I was relatively unlucky, I missed many premium draws and had the second nuts against the nuts twice, plus the third nuts vs second nuts and some more strong hands against slightly better hands of my opponents (no. 5 vs no. 3, etc). However, at the same time I was outplayed quite a bit. I definitely can't beet this level even if I don't get unlucky - that was my impression. I also think that I moved up too quickly without playing enough on the $5/$10 tables because I felt that the amounts were too meaningless after playing €3/€6 no-limit hold'em.

So the plan is now to restrict myself to the $5/$10 game which I have been beating and give another shot at the $10/$20 only in a couple of weeks after watching some more videos and gaining more experience.

I also had a losing day yesterday in my no-limit hold'em cash games which feels really bad after I made $10,000 last month. I ended up making 0 in July in total because I bought in for the Main Event of the WSOP which cost me exactly $10,000. I am glad that at least I made it back. This month started very badly, I am down $4k, but hopefully better days will come :)
