Bodog gives a 110% bonus for first depositors up to $500. 10% of the bonus is instant and the rest is regular first deposit bonus. Use registration code: PA2C1F1.
Bodog has been operating sports betting and casino since 1995, and in 2004 it opened its poker site. Their site is one of the favourites of the weaker American players.
The software is self developed. The graphics were enhanced a lot lately. The lobby is easy-to-use, fast and perspicuous. The software itself is also fast and ensures good playability.
The site is independent, not a member of any networks and operates a stable casino and sports betting section. They invest heavily in online poker.

Bodog gives a 110% bonus up to $500 for first deposit. 10% of the bonus is instant, the rest can be released as a usual first deposit bonus. Use registration code: poker.theflop.net . This bonus is available for the first deposit, and it is easy to clear, the good bonus conditions are very generous. Sometimes you get more back by clearing the bonus than what you contributed in rake. You need to earn 10 points for each bonus dollar, so for a $100 bonus you should collect 1000 Bodog Poker points. You have 30 days to clear the bonus. You get 50 free points automatically when you deposit - this does not count towards your bonus.

Bodog puts in a lot of effort and money to promote the brand. Their best tournaments are the weekly $100,000 Guaranteed for $100 buy-in, and the WSOP, WPT and APT satellites. They also run the Bodog Poker Open series where in the first main event they added 25,000 to the prize pool.
In Bodog’s loyalty system everyone starts with 50 points. Points can be used as buy-ins to tournaments, where you can win real money. Bodog Poker points can be earned at cash tables, when you contribute to the rake, or buying in to tournaments. You also get points for the time you spend playing. For $1-$3 rake, you earn the maximum which is 1 point. For $0.05-$0.20 rake, you earn the minimum which is 0,1 point. Every $1 fee in tournament buy-ins is worth 3 Bodog Poker points, which means that for a $50+$5 tournament you get 15 points.
The number of players is highest at the micro-limit tables, where the range is from loose to very loose, and 60-80% flop view is common. This ensures a very profitable, loose play for those who play on micro-limits. In fact, you can also easily find exceptionally loose $5/$10 no limit tables, where the level of play is not much higher. However the very loose-agressive play can lead to serious bankroll volatility.
The player volume is mediocre at Bodog. You can usually find tables up to $10/20 no limit Hold’em, or $30/60 at the limit tables, but most of the play is concentrated on the low and micro stakes. Bodog’s player volume increased heavily when many other sites banned American players. However, in 2008 the number of players significantly decreased, because of the difficulties around payment methods and the debates about the domain name.
Bodog’s self developed software is fast and easy-to-use. It contains all the functions you can wish for and the new version is customizable appropriately. Unfortunately mini-tables are still only available in a view where you see two tables in small and one in large, and you have to switch between them each time. Another disadvantage is that you can only play on three tables simultaneously. The lobby is clear and informative. During the session you can see your own statistics, for example how frequently you saw the flop, or what percentage of the hands you won. You can upload your own photo, so it appears next to your name, but you are only able to change this picture once. Players can select the color and brightness of the tables. They do not use the classic table picture, instead the hands are played on a big cloth - originally dark red. You can see your cards after you folded, so you can see if you would have won, had you not folded. You can use 4-color deck and you can turn the animation on-off. You should be careful when you sit down to a table, as the "auto post blind" function is turned on. This is a fully automated feature on Bodog (it is very annoying to post the big blind when you are going to be one in the next hand anyway).

The variety of game types on Bodog is very good, but the number of real money players is smaller in the less popular games. You can find all variations of Texas Hold'em, Omaha, Omaha High-Low, Seven Card Stud, Seven Card Stud High-Low and Five Card Stud. There are limit, pot limit and no-limit games. They have full-ring tables, which are for 9 players, shorthanded tables and heads-up tables. The play is mainly at the no-limit tables at micro stakes, but there are enough players at the medium stakes too in the limit and no-limit Hold’em games.

Although the owner, Calvin Ayre has issues with the authorities and different individuals from time-to-time, there has never been a problem with Bodog’s payments before.
